Bakari is a South African brand. Bakari means "One with great purpose" in Swahili, which links with our vision of being destined to succeed. All clothes are locally manufactured in South Africa. We manufacture capsule piece, pieces that are sustainable and last throughout generations.

Founded in 2021, Bakari Menswear was born from a desire to bring something different to South African wardrobes, clothing that’s both refined and bold, blending timeless style with modern sophistication. Each piece is proudly designed and manufactured in South Africa, ensuring premium quality while supporting local craftsmanship.

As of 2026, Bakari is evolving and undergoing metamorphosis. Originally positioned as menswear, the brand has always been rooted in something deeper than gender. 

As we grow, it has become clear that our work is not about designing for men or women, it is about designing for tradition. 

Bakari creates unisex clothing because our focus is not gender; it is heritage, culture, and craftsmanship.
